Call for Applications Part-time (50%) Senior Academic Positions at The Alliance Center for Iranian Studies (ACIS)

 

The Alliance Center for Iranian Studies (ACIS) at the Lester and Sally Entin Faculty of Humanities at Tel Aviv University is seeking research applicants for a part time faculty position in Iranian History and/or Persian-speaking world research track, within the following areas: society, culture, politics, religion, nationalism, minorities, economy, environment, and international relations. Preference might be given to candidates who can potentially enrich the Center's unique fields of study, including the modern history of Iran and the history of Jews in Persian-speaking communities.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. at the time of filling the position
  • Excellence in research
  • Academic publications, published or accepted for publication
  • Ability to do Independent research in the relevant fields
  • Use of Persian resources
  • Teaching skills
  • Appointed recruits will be expected to submit competitive research grant proposals

Appointment procedures will be carried out according to the rules and regulations of Tel Aviv University and are subject to the approval of the University authorities. The academic rank will be determined by the applicant's skills and qualifications.

Position to be filled by: January 1, 2022, or October 1, 2022, subject to the University's decision, to be notified upon appointment.

Candidates should send their applications including a cover letter referring to their educational and academic life (2 pages max.), a CV, a list of publications, 2 samples of publications, and a short description of their next research project (up to 1 page). Applicants that are considered for next stage of screening will be asked to provide recommendations from senior scholars in the field
