Brain, Gut and Microbiota Research: Some Philosophical Issues

Lecture by Prof. Maureen O’Malley
Senior IdEx Research Chair at the University of Bordeaux, in the CIRID/ALYSAI Unit

Do microbes control human brains, minds and behaviours? Microbiota research suggests to some researchers that microorganisms in human and other animal guts are like puppeteers pulling the strings of the puppet- hosts. The talk will examine these claims in light of the research that inspires them.
