TAU-Toronto Working Group
Re-Conceiving Key Terms and Concepts in Antisemitism Studies, 2014-2019
Designed to promote academic research on antisemitism in both Israel and abroad, this cooperative research project will support a series of exchanges between faculty members and graduate students at TAU and The University of Toronto and York University, Toronto.
The project began in July, 2014, with a visit by two faculty members from Toronto who led several seminars at TAU on the study of antisemitism. The group's second meeting took place at the Association for Jewish Studies (AJS) Conference in December, 2015 when approximately a hundred scholars from four continents convened for a set of three intensive seminars. The next meeting of the working group took place at TAU in late June, 2015 and was conducted in cooperation with Brown University's Program in Judaic Studies. These meetings set the foundations for a series of workshops that took place in September-October, 2016 in Toronto as well as workshops in Toronto in the summer of 2018.
Collaboration on this project will lead to the publication of a collected volume entitled Key Concepts in the Study of Antisemitism which will be published with Palgrave in 2020.
