

Dr. Jeremy Fogel
Dr. Jeremy Fogel is a faculty member in the Department of Jewish Philosophy and Talmud at Tel Aviv University. He is also a faculty member at the Mandel Institute for Educational Leadership in Jerusalem, an academic director at Alma, and lectures on philosophy to the general public in a variety of forums. Jeremy holds a B.A. in philosophy from the University of Cambridge and an M.A. and Ph.D. in philosophy from Tel Aviv University. In his thesis, he examined the tension between universalism and particularism in modern Jewish philosophy, focusing on the German-Jewish thinkers Moses Mendelssohn and Hermann Cohen. He continued to explore these issues as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Hamburg, publishing articles on the subject and a book, Jewish Universalisms, which was published by Brandeis University Press in 2023. Jeremy is involved in various independent artistic and literary ventures, and also records popular podcasts on academic and cultural topics.
