Doctor Nurit Tsafrir earned her B.A. degree from the Deprtment of Arabic Language and Literature at the Hebrew University, and her M.A. and Ph.D. (1993) from Princeton University. She has been teaching in the Department of Middle Eastern and African History since 1997, mainly courses on Muslim religion and law. Her current scholarly work focuses on Muslim law in a social and political context.
