Dr. Fu Youde ​is Full professor of philosophy and Jewish studies. The founder and director of the Center for Judaic and Inter-Religious studies at Shandong University, a leading research institution for the humanities and social sciences in Chinese academia. He serves as co-head of the SDU-TAU Joint Institute for Jewish and Israel Studies. He has published numerous books and essays on the history of Judaism and Jewish philosophy and several translations, including Maimonides’ Guide of the Perplexed.

Prof. Uriya Shavit is Full Professor for Islamic studies and migration studies at Tel Aviv University. He serves as Chair of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies as well as the Program in Religious Studies. He is the author of nine academic books and dozens of articles, with a focus on modern political theology in the Arab world and the sociology of Islamic Law in the West.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. MENG Zhenhua (Jeremiah) is a professor at the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Nanjing University, and serves as an adjunct researcher of the Center for Judaic and Inter-Religious studies of Shandong University. He is the author of The Society of Yehud and the Redaction of the Bible in the Persian Period, and (co)editor of The Basic Concepts of Judaism and Understanding God in the 21st Century.

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. WANG Yu, associate Professor in the Dept. of West Asian Studies at Peking University, is the director of the Institute of Israel and Jewish Studies at PKU, and a research member at the TAU-SDU Joint Institute for Jewish and Israeli Studies. Her main research fields are Jewish History, Israeli society and politics. She authored two books: A National Minority in Ethnic Democracy: Arabs in Israel in the Decade of Transition 1967-1977 [Lambert Academic Publishing, 2010] and Arab Citizens of Israel: Legal Status, Identity and their Relations with the State 1948-2018 [in Chinese, Social Sciences Academic Press, 2018], and published many articles in Chinese and English. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Zhenshuai Jiang, currently associate professor at the Center for Judaic and Inter-Religious Studies of Shandong University. He received his PhD from the University of Zurich. His research fields include Hebrew Bible and Ancient Judaism. He is the author of Critical Spatiality in Genesis 1-11 (Mohr Siebeck, 2018). 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Dong Xiuyuan, Associate Professor, Center for Judaic and Inter-religious Studies, Department of Religious Studies, Shandong University. In 2014 he received his PhD from Shandong University. The topic of his doctoral thesis is Maimonides’ Thought on Cosmogony. His research interests lie in Medieval Jewish and Islamic philosophy, particularly on cosmology and its epistemological and metaphysical foundations. His recent publications include the Chinese translations of al-Farabi’s al-Madīna al-Fādila (The Principles of Opinions of the Citizens in the Virtuous State, Shanghai: East China Normal University Press, 2016), and of Maimonides’ Mishneh Torah: Sefer ha-Madda (The Code of Maimonides: the Book of Knowledge, Jinan: Shandong University Press, 2015).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Wang Qiangwei, Assistant Researcher at the Center for Judaic and Inter-religious Studies / Department of Religious Studies, Shandong University. His research interests including the Hebrew Prophetic tradition, Comparative religious studies, and Jewish Folklore. His articles and comments appear in several journals and newspapers (in Chinese). Recently he is working on a project in regard to the Pesach. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Assistant Secretary of the SDU-TAU Joint Institute for Jewish and Israel Studies - Shandong University

Dr. Chen Yanyan is Assistant Research Fellow of Israel Studies at the Center of Judaic and Inter-Religious Studies of Shandong University, and the Assistant Secretary of the SDU-TAU Joint Institute for Jewish and Israel Studies. Her research focus includes Israeli history, politics and cultures. She has published articles on the history of Kibbutz and Israeli Politics.

Ms. Inbal Piamenta Shamir is a PhD candidate at the School of Philosophy at Tel Aviv University. Her dissertation explores Chinese philosophy and the teachings of Confucius. Inbal pursed her research interests in China for several of years, and has a keen interest in deepening the intercultural dialogue between Chinese and Israeli scholars.
