December 13, 2017- Iran Forum hosted Dr. Walter Posch, from The National Defense Academy, Austria on "The Politics of the Iranian Security Apparatus".


December 2017- Remembering Iran- "Teheran Inside, Israel Outside"- The photographer Itai Davidian presented his photos on his the Persian community in Israel.


The Center organized during the 2017-18 academic year a monthly meeting series with Iranian-born Israeli artists. The meeting hosted artists from a variety of fields who presented their view of Iran through their art. The meetings were followed by a Q&A discussion. The series provided students with the opportunity to get acquainted with different aspects of the Iranian experience:

Benny Gantz, Chief of Staff, Israel Defense Forces and former Defense Minister MK Shaul Mofaz who spoke both on the Iranian Challenge to Israel. Liora Hendelman- Baavur spoke on the changing Iranian society and Meir Litvak on political developments in Iran.

December 14, 2009: An international conference: "Rewriting Histories in Modern Iran". Among the guest speakers at the conference were: Matthias Kuntzel from Germany, Charles A. Small from Yale University, Prof. Nasrin Rahimieh from University of California and Mahmood Karimi-Hakak, a CIS Fulbright scholar of Siena College.


December 3, 2009: Screening the Persian speaking film: "Teheran Has no More Pomegranates"- a documentary film which presents the history of Tehran since being a small rural village to one of the biggest cities in the world.


June 25, 2009: "The Struggle for the Islamic Republic: A Flash in the Pan or Real Change?" A follow-up conference was held immediately after the presidential elections in Iran, where ten foreign experts joined Israeli scholars to assessed the new political situation in Iran following the presidential elections and their implications for the region and the world. May 24-25, 2009: International convention: "The Iranian Revolution: Thirty Years After". The conference was hosted by the Center for Iranian Studies co- sponsored by "30 Years After", a new organization of Iranian-American Jewish young professionals and supported by the American-Iranian Jewish Federation of New York, included forty prominent scholars from countries around the world:  Israel, the United States, Italy, France, China, England, Turkey, Russia, Japan, Switzerland, and South Korea. The conference was held in honor of Lord David Alliance upon his receipt of an honorary doctorate from Tel Aviv University.

May 4, 2009: Iran Forum hosted Vanna Vannuccini, reporter of La Repubblica and author of "Rosa è il colore della Persia: Il sogno perduto di una democrazia islamica", on the topic "Iran is Not Black & White".


May 3, 2009: Book presentation: "The Secret War" with Iran by Dr. Ronen Bergman, senior security and intelligence correspondent and analyst for Israel's daily Yedioth Ahronoth. The panel, chaired by journalist Tali Lipkin-Shahak, included Prof. David Menashri, Director of the Center for Iranian Studies; Dr. Uzi Rabi, head of the TAU Department of Middle Eastern and African history and Senior Research Associate at the Center; General (res.) Aharon Zeevi-Farkash, former head of Military Intelligence in Israel; and, General (res.) Ethan Ben Eliyahu, former Commander of the Israeli Air Force. 


April 23, 2009: Iran Forum hosted Geneive Abdo, Author of the book: "Mecca and Main Street: Muslim Life in America after 9/11" and a fellow at The Century Foundation, in a special session on "The U.S., Iran and the Challenge of Political Islam".


March 26, 2009: An international conference held in Berlin, Germany:"Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah:  Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial". Co-sponsored with The Yale Initiative for the Interdisciplinary Study of Antisemitism.

March 25, 2007: The Center organized its first international conference outside of Israel at the Hotel Intercontinental in Los Angeles, sponsored by the Center’s co-founders, David and Laura Merage, on "Iran: the Emerging Challenge in Multiple Perspectives." 


March 13, 2007-  Iran Forum- Special Session on "An Effective American Response to the Iranian Nuclear Program." Professor Kori Schake - a Bradley Professor of International Studies at the Military Academy of West Point, a Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University, and former White House adviser  was able to provide an insider's perspective on the status of the American intelligence apparatus and its implication for American foreign policy vis-à-vis Iran.


March 11, 2007-  The Center and the Dayan Center co-sponsored an evening of lectures regarding "Religion and State in the Middle East." The seminar was held on the occasion of the publication of the book: Religion and State in in the Middle East, edited by Prof. Menashri in honor of Professor Emeritus Shimon Shamir. 


March 6-7, 2007-  International Conference on "Iran and Iranian Civilization: History, Society and Culture." During two consecutive days, the Center organized this international conference. Talks were delivered by scholars and researchers from major research centers in the U.S.A,  Europe and Israel.


January 26, 2007-  The Iran Forum Hosting Hossein Derakhsan. An Iranian–born freelance journalist and blogger currently residing in Canada, Derakhshan lectured to students and staff members of the Center on “Reform, Youth and Technology in Iran.”  The lecture was followed by lively discussions and informal encounters with the guest. 


January 10, 2007-  Iran Forum- "Iran: Alone and Surrounded." Lecture delivered by Professor Fred Mokhtari from the Near East/South Asia Center for Strategic Studies at the National Defense University in Washington D.C.. 


December 27, 2006- Iran Forum. In a session chaired by Doctor Raquel Shaul of the Department of East Asian Studies of TAU, Professor Kojiro Machida delivered a talk on "In Search for a New Paradigm of Civilization" followed by a lecture on "Reza Shah's Reign and Foreign Relations" from his colleague Professor Shintaro Yoshimura. Both lecturers are professors at Graduate School of Integrated Arts and Sciences, Hiroshima University Japan.


December 7, 2006-  Iran Forum- "Living the Absolute: Metaphor, Community, and Faith in the Stories of Mortaza Motahhari". This talk, which was attended by students and faculty, was delivered by doctoral candidate Ori Goldberg


November 6, 2006- Iran Forum- Special session on "Japan, Iran and the Nuclearization of the Persian Gulf". The session featured guest lecturer Professor Sadashi Fukuda, director-general of the Institute of Developing Economies and professor at Waseda University in Tokyo.


September 6, 2006- Seminar organized by CIS and Daniel Abrahams Center for International and Regional Studies (TAU) on "Iran in the Aftermath of the War in Lebanon". The seminar, which was held following the ceasefire reached by Israel and Lebanon, was the first academic event to address the war and its implications for Iran, Israel and the region.


June 6-7, 2006- Two-Day International Conference Devoted to “Modern Iran” and “The History of Iranian Jews” respectively.  During two consecutive days in the month of June, the Center and the Dr. Habib Levy Program organized and carried out a large-scale international conference. The theme of the first day was “Iran:  Modern Religious Thought and Society.” The central theme as well as the title of the second day of the conference (June 7, 2006) was “Jews of Iran:  Continuity and Change.” 


May 15, 2006- Iran Forum Hosts a Presentation by Dr. Camron M. Amin, entitled “Rethinking the Way We Teach the Modern Middle East.” Following his lecture on the press and the media under Reza Shah (see above), Dr. Amin appeared before graduate and undergraduate students and gave a presentation, followed by questions and answers, as well as thoughts and new perspectives called for in the teaching of the history and society of the modern Middle East.


May 10, 2006-  The Iran Forum Held a Session on “The Press and the Media Under Reza Shah,” by Dr. Camron M. Amin. Dr. Amin, an American scholar of Iranian press and politics from the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Michigan at Dearborn, delivered a lecture to graduate students and researchers on the role and evolution of the Iranian press under the reign of Reza Shah (1925-1941).


April 24, 2006- Official Inauguration of the Center, and a Day of Conference on “Iran’s Emergence as a Regional Power.”

December 29, 2005- A special session on: "Iran Today: Between East and West". Guest speakers: Prof. P.R.  Kumaraswamy, Jawaharlal Nehru University, School of International Studies (India) on: "Iran and the Far East" and Prof. Morris Mottale Franklin College, Lugano (Switzerland) on " Iran and the United States"


December 12, 2005:  The Iran Forum Holds a Day of Lectures Designated “Iran Today: Between East and West.”


December 8, 2005: Inauguration of “Iran Forum” at TAU (coordinated by Liora Hendelman-Baavur, PhD candidate). As a research and discussion venue designed to promote academic and research interest in Iran, the “Iran Forum”, established by the Center, convened its first official meeting.


November 17, 2005: "Iran Jews in Changing Era", Launching of the Academic Activities of the Center. In an evening of addresses and academic lectures, the academic activities of the Center were officially launched. The lectures, devoted primarily to the history and cultural heritage of Iranian Jewry, were delivered by Prof. David Menashri, Dr. Houman Sarshar and Dr. David Yeroushalmi.


November 15, 2005: The Launching Ceremony of the Center. Addresses, lectures and presentations were delivered in Hebrew, Persian and English, by the donors and founders of the Center, Lord David Alliance and Mr. David Merage; director of the Center, Prof. David Menashri; director of the Center for Iranian Jewish Oral History, Ms. Homa Sarshar, Los Angeles; Mr. Meir Ezri, former Israeli ambassador to Iran; Dr. Houman Sarshar, scholar of Iranian Jewry, New York, and Dr. David Yeroushalmi, senior research fellow at the CIS.
